Quad biker seriously injured

POLICE have appealed for witnesses to a collision involving two quad bikes which left one man seriously injured.

Officers revealed that the blue Yamaha and yellow Suzuki quad bikes were travelling along the A57 in the direction of the M1 when they collided near to Lindrick Common at around 4.50pm on Friday.

A police spokesman said: “It’s believed that the front vehicle lost power and slowed, causing the Yamaha to take evasive action.

“There was a glancing blow between the vehicles and the Yamaha left the road to the offside, crossed a small grass verge and struck a tree.

“The Yamaha rider, a man aged in his mid-forties from the Gateford area of Worksop, suffered broken ribs and was taken to Sheffield’s Northern General Hospital.

“The Suzuki rider, a 38-year-old man from New Rossington, Doncaster, sustained slight cuts and bruises and was taken to Rotherham District General Hospital.”
