Camerados will welcome visitors to the Carlton Park Hotel on Moorgate on Monday as part of their battle against loneliness.

The initiative is designed to offer a safe environment to share worries or concerns without judgement.

Carlton Park sales manager Jason Gossop was charmed by the hospital’s relaxation and friendship teepee on a vist there last summer and decided to contact Camerados to ensure that a permanent home in the town could be found.

Carlton Park’s public living room will open on the first Monday of each month from 3.30pm to 4.30pm.

Visitors can help themselves to complimentary tea, coffee, biscuits, cakes and meet other people.

The Rotherham teepee attracted nearly 20,000 visits during its temporary stay at the hospital and the Carlton Park hopes to build on the programme, continuing to provide a safe, relaxed, and friendly environment.
