Praise for teenagers in youth club battle
Youngsters collected more than 1,300 signatures on a petition to save Bramley Youth Club, which is one of 11 youth centres under threat of the axe by July as part of a council bid to save £400,000.
They have been backed by Bramley Parish Council and this week Cllr Mahroof Hussain, Cabinet member for young people's issues, said he was encouraged by the fact the community wanted to become involved.

Hide AdHe sadi: “We have to make changes and work in partnership with other organisations to achieve our common aims.
“What we continue to remain committed to is providing a youth service that meets the needs of our young people in every part of the borough.

Hide AdThe response at Bramley had been echoed in other parts of the borough and Cllr Mahroof promised:
“There will be further meetings with our staff and interested groups to see what can be achieved."
