Police's door-to-door enquiries after Eastwood 'murder'

DETECTIVES issued appeals in English and Slovak after two people were arrested on suspicion of murdering a man at Eastwood.

The pair — a 32-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman — remained in custody last night (Monday) after the incident on Sunday.

Emergency services responded to reports of a 26-year-old man being seriously injured. He died at the scene.

Supt Steve Chapman said: “I would like to offer reassurance to the community, and urge anyone with information that could help our enquiries to come forward.

“Neighbourhood teams are increasing patrols in the area and carrying out door-to-door enquiries.

“Please do speak to us if you have any questions, concerns or would like to report information.”

Denman Street had reopened this morning but a police presence remained at the scene.
