Police seize quad on Goldthorpe trail

Officers spotted the vehicle on an off-road bike operation last weekend, according to a spokesman.

Off-road vehicles are not allowed on any part of the cross-country trail, which is popular with walkers, cyclists and horse-riders.

Posting on the Barnsley South East NHP Facebook page, a spokesman said: "Whilst on a bike operation at the weekend, the Goldthorpe Neighbourhood Team seized this large red quad seen driving on the Trans Pennine Trail.

"The anti-social use of off-road bikes and quads will not be tolerated!"
