Police seek farm blaze witnesses

POLICE have appealed for help in their investigation of a massive blaze at a Rotherham farm.

The fire broke out at Brecks Lane Farm, East Herringthorpe, on August 6 and burned for three days.

Four fire engines and 20 firefighters tackled the blaze, which tore through two barns, destroying vital machinery, fuel supplies and animal feed.

Witnesses reported seeing two men running from the burning barn towards Herringthorpe.

Det Con Scott Walker said: “I am certain that someone in the local community will know who carried out this malicious attack.

“I urge anyone with information about this incident to contact the police immediately and ensure these reckless criminals, who care little for the safety of others, do not strike again.”
