Both drivers tried to flee, but one was discovered by police dogs in nearby bushes.

A member of the South Yorkshire Police Operational Support said: “Two vehicles had a bit of a coming together and both lost.

“For some reason, both drivers ran away. Our land sharks found one in the bushes and the other managed to get away.

“The driver is still in custody whilst enquiries continue.”

Officers are appealing for anyone with information about the crash to contact them on 101.
