Police search for “distressed woman” seen in car

CONCERNS are growing for the welfare of a "distressed" woman seen in the back of car.

The woman was seen on Saturday, February 4, in a large vehicle, possibly a seven-seater Renault or Peugeot, on Main Street, Mexborough at around 5am.

A spokeswoman for South Yorkshire Police said: “The woman, who appeared to be in some distress, is described as having long dark curly hair, wearing either a red coat or cardigan.

“A man was sat in the driver’s seat.

“CCTV of the area is currently being examined.”

Officers are appealing for information after concerns were raised by a member of the public.

Anyone with any information should call police on 101, quoting incident 304 of February 4.
