Police plea after motorcyclist dies in Goldthorpe collision

A MOTORCYCLIST died after a collision with a car near Goldthorpe.

The 35-year-old man was riding a black Suzuki motorbike along the A635 Doncaster Road, towards Barnsley, when the bike was involved in a collision with a bronze Vauxhall Astra.   

The incident happened at 9.15pm on Wednesday at the junction with Doncaster Road.

Police, who are appealing for witnesses to the accident, said the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. 

A spokeswoman said: "An investigation is ongoing into the collision."
