Police name 72-year-old crash victim

POLICE have named the 72-year-old crash victim as Marjorie                              Webster of Goldthorpe.

Mrs Webster was killed on December 1 after her broken down car was hit by a large goods vehicle on Barnsley Road at Hickleton.

She was married and had worked as a PA for more than 30 years.

Police revealed that Mrs Webster had called the breakdown services before her  green Toyota Avensis was hit from behind by a silver Mercedes large goods vehicle.

The LGV driver, a 38-year-old man also from the Barnsley area, has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

Police are appealing for witnesses and information about the incident which happened around 500 yards east of the junction with Red Hill Lane at around 11am.
