Police: Missing Swallownest boy (12) may have contacted family

EXTRA police patrols are taking place as part of efforts to find a 12-year-old boy from Swallownest.

Jamie O’Sullivan was last seen on Haigh Moor Lane at about noon last Wednesday (27).

Officers Officers believe that Jamie may be staying with people who are known to him in Beighton, Sheffield.

Det Insp Nigel Taaffe said: “Since Jamie was reported missing to police, we’ve been working closely with a number of agencies to find him.

“Our enquiries continue to suggest that Jamie is in the Beighton area, where we know he has friends.

“We also now believe that Jamie may have been in contact with family members, which would indicate that he is safe.

“But until he is seen and spoken to by our officers we will continue to appeal for information on his whereabouts.”

Jamie is described as about 5ft 4ins, slim to medium build with short blonde mousy hair. He is reported to have been last seen wearing a black puffer coat, black school trousers, black trainers and a white shirt.

Det Insp Taaffe added: “Jamie is only 12-years-old and still a child, it is important our officers find him and speak to him so we can be assured he is safe and well.

“If Jamie is reading this: please get in touch with police and let us know where you are. Lots of people are worried about you and want to make sure you’re all right.”
