Police issue appeal over blaze at Rotherham's Howard building

POLICE have appealed for witnesses to the Howard building fire in Rotherham town centre.

Fire crews are still at the scene on College Lane after being called at 8.40am on Friday.

One man was rescued from the empty former Rotherham College building, which has planning permission for conversion to flats.

A police spokeswoman said: “An investigation into the incident in currently ongoing. Any witnesses are asked to contact police on 101 quoting incident number 224 of July 28.”
