Police hunt sex beast

POLICE are investigating allegations of a serious sexual assault on a 54-year-old woman in the Wincobank area.

The incident is said to have taken place shortly before 6pm last Wednesday on playing fields near Wincobank Hill, Jenkin Road and Forthill Road.

The woman was walking her dog when she was approached by a man, who ran off towards  Jenkin Road and Newman Road after the attack.

He is described as being tanned or Eastern European in appearance, between 5ft 4ins and 5ft 8ins tall, in his late 30s to early 40s with a thick black tidy hairstyle.

He was wearing a lumberjack style shirt with a dark coloured check on a lighter background at the time.

Insp Darren Starkey appealed for information, but reassured the public that this was an isolated incident.

He added: “We want to reassure the public this is an isolated incident, we are working with the local Safer Neighbourhood Team and officers from CID to identify the offender.

“We have increased patrols in the area and enquiries are ongoing.”
