Police dog Reggie catches fleeing driver after Centenary Way incident

POLICE dog Reggie chased down a suspect after this vehicle was driven the wrong way on a dual carriageway and along pavements.

Officers said the car came eventually stopped after it was stung — bursting its tyres — on Centenary Way in the early hours of today (Thursday).

One man, a passenger, was detained at the scene while the driver ran off but was caught by Reggie (below).

South Yorkshire Police’s Operational Support Unit said: “The car failed to stop around 1.20am, was driven on the wrong side of the road and was stung, bursting its tyres.

“One male was detained straight away and the driver soon after utilising Reggie. Both were arrested and are in custody.”
