Police confirm explosives found in Greasbrough were grenades

TWO explosive devices that were found in a property in Greasbrough yesterday (Thursday) were grenades, police have confirmed.

Officers recovered the grenades and a firearm from a property on Briery Walk yesterday morning and a controlled explosion was carried out in a park in Greasbrough with the help of a bomb disposal unit from the Army.

A woman (48) was arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm and prohibited weapons, a police spokeswoman said.

A man (33) was arrested on suspicion of drug offences and a second man (32) was arrested on suspicion of harassment and threats to damage, she added.
