Police CCTV appeal after mobile phone theft

POLICE investigating the theft of a mobile phone from a taxi believe this man could help with enquiries.

Officers said a 55-year-old man accidentally left his phone on the seat when he left the vehicle.

A police spokeswoman added: “A short time later, another man got into the taxi and took the phone, and made no known attempts to return it to its owner.

“After exhausting all other lines of enquiry, police now want to speak to man pictured as they believe he might hold information that could help our officers to investigate further.”

The incident happened in Rotherham on December 29.

Anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting crime reference 14/195845/19 or contact Crimestoppers via crimestoppers-uk.org or 0800 555 111.
