Police car torched in Rawmarsh

AN investigation has been launched after a police car was set on fire in Rawmarsh. 

A crew from Rotherham station was called to the deliberate blaze in Ash Grove on Friday at 7.15pm .

The car was found to be well alight, said a spokeswoman for South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue.

"One breathing apparatus wearer used a hose reel to extinguish the fire," she added.

The crew left around 7.40pm. 

Police said enquiries into the fire were underway and anyone with information should call 101, quoting incident number 722 of February 7.
