ILLEGAL and defective cars were targeted in a crackdown by police in Rawmarsh, East Herringthorpe and Swinton.
Seven vehicles were taken off the road, two drivers were fined for no MOT and two more were reported on summons for no insurance.
One driver was reported on summons for no licence, no insurance and was ticketed for defects on his van.
Officers also recovered “spice” and cannabis after raiding properties across the three locations in Wednesday’s crackdown.
Insp Adrian Luscombe said: “We’ve removed a number of dangerous vehicles from our roads and taken action against drivers who have broken the law.
“I’d like to thank our partner agencies for their diligence as their support has been vital in making our roads safer for all.”
A car checkpoint was also set up at Manvers, while crime prevention advice was handed out at Parkgate Shopping.
