Police arrest menacing axe man in Rawmarsh

POLICE have arrested a man seen walking around the Rawmarsh Hill area with an axe.

Officers were called at about 9pm yesterday following reports that the man was “behaving in a manner that caused concern and alarm,” a spokeswoman said.

They arrested a 35-year-old man on suspicion of affray. He has since been released while police make enquiries.
