Police appeal to find Good Samaritan

POLICE are seeking a Good Samaritan who aided a 74-year-old driver attacked by a racist thug.

The pensioner was driving down Masbrough Street at approximately 2pm on Wednesday, May 2, when he was assaulted and racially abused by a driver who stopped in front of him, suffering a broken cheekbone and a bruised face.

His attacker is described as a white male aged between 25 and 30. He is believed to be of muscular build, between 5ft 9ins and 6ft tall, and was driving a silver Volvo.

The victim was driving a green VW Polo. A passer-by stopped to help him and noted down details of the incident on a piece of paper.

Police are urging him and anyone who witnessed the incident to contact them on 101, quoting incident number 537 of May 2.
