Police appeal over flasher in Clifton

Police are appealing for information after a man exposed himself in front of an 11-year-old girl at a bus stop.

The incident happened on Friday, June 10, at about 3.50pm opposite Clifton Comprehensive School.

The victim reported to police that she saw a man standing there, looking at the timetable.

A moment later she realised he was standing in front of her, exposing himself.

When the schoolgirl ran back into Clifton School to alert staff, the man was seen running down Middle Lane, turning right onto Clifton Grove.

Det Con Claire Mann, investigating this incident, said: “Although the girl was not hurt, she was extremely distressed by this incident.

“I want to reassure parents and residents in the area that this appears to be a one-off incident and I would ask anyone who knows who this man is to contact the police or Crimestoppers.”

The man is described as white, in his late 30s or early 40s and approximately 5ft 9in to 6ft tall.

He had short brown hair with some grey hairs at the sides and distinctive wrinkles to his cheeks, around his mouth and on his forehead.

He was wearing a yellow high visibility waistcoat, a blue short sleeved T-shirt and black trousers.

Anyone with information about this incident, or saw what happened, should contact South Yorkshire Police on 01142 202020 and ask for DC Mann, quoting reference 687 of June 10, 2011.
