Police appeal after armed robbery at Rawmarsh

THREE residents were threatened with a knife from their own kitchen during an armed robbery.

Two unknown men approached a property in Creighton Avenue, Rawmarsh, just after midnight on Wednesday, July 28.

One of them is reported to have entered the address, taken a knife from the kitchen and threatened the residents in the living room.

A police spokesperson said: “He then stole cash from a wallet before both offenders fled. The man who entered the property was described as wearing a black hoodie and face mask.

“The occupants, two men and a woman, weren’t injured in the incident.”

Rotherham CID has appealed for information, CCTV and dash-cam footage.

Investigator Rachel Scott said: “This is a very concerning report, and we are doing all we can to trace those involved.

“I would ask anyone who lives on or near Creighton Avenue to check their CCTV and dash-cam footage to see if they captured either of the two offenders. 

“Likewise, if you saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area on the Tuesday evening, or in the early hours of the Wednesday, I’d urge you to report this to us.”

Information can be passed via 101 or through SYP’s website. The incident is number one of July 28.
