Plumber Stuart saves customer in heart attack drama

CUSTOMER Angela Thornton owes her life to the plumber who was working in her home when she suffered a heart attack.

Stuart Egginton rang 999 and gave first when Angela Thornton collapsed at her home in Swinton.

She was later told the attack could have been fatal if it had not bee for the prompt attention she received.

Stuart, who works for maintenance firm Morrison, said: “You never think anything like this will ever happen to you when you are at work.

“I am just glad that Mrs Thornton is okay and that I was able to provide some help when she needed it. I wish her a speedy recovery.”

Cllr Rose McNeely, Rotherham Borough Council’s Cabinet member for neighbourhoods, said: “By any standards this is above and beyond the call of duty.

“Stuart is the definition of a local hero and I cannot praise him highly enough.
