Plea for runners to help Rotherham Hospice

FUND-raisers are being encouraged to put their best foot forward and become part of Rotherham Hospice’s Run4Fun event.

Last year hundreds of people flocked to the Herringthorpe Stadium to show their support for the charity-focussed, two-mile kilometre fun run and this year’s event aims to be an even greater success.

A fund-raising target of £5,000 has been set for the fun run which will take place at Clifton Park on Spring Bank, May 31. The run will start at 11am.

“The emphasis really is on a fun day out for the family,” said Helen Mater, fund-raising manager at the hospice, off Broom Road, Rotherham.

She added: “We want as many people to get involved as possible.”

An entry fee of £4 applies to adults and £1.50 to under-16s. Four adults can take part for £12 and a family ticket costs £8.

Entry forms for the Run4Fun event are available from the Rotherham Hospice.

Alternatively, call Helen in the hospice’s fund-raising office on 01709 308917.
