The rider, a 22-year-old man from Mexborough, suffered serious lower back and internal injuries and was taken to Rotherham Hospital.

His passenger, a 20-year-old woman from Mexborough, was taken to Sheffield’s Northern General with serious back fractures.

The incident happened at 1pm yesterday next to Staithes pub.
