AN ANNUAL music festival to celebrate the life of crash victim Rob ‘Bean’ Crook attracted record crowds at the weekend.

Rob, of Rawmarsh, was 23 when he died in a car crash in 2010 and as a tribute to the music fan his friends have organised a charity event every year to raise funds for Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice

This year’s line-up included Kazabian, Prodigy tribute Jilted Generation, Rage Against The Bean and Pantera UK.

Event organiser Simon ‘Soggy’ Hartley, said he was thrilled with the turnout on Saturday at Park View Social Club in Swinton.

Visitors also enjoyed fun fair rides, an all-day auction and hot food at the event, now in its fourth year.

Simon is now preparing for the next event, Hallowbean in November, a smaller scale version of Beanfest also for Bluebell Wood, which was chosen by Rob’s parents Dorothy and Dennis Crook.
