PICTURES: A true carnival atmosphere in Harthill Carnival

A PARADE through the village set the tone for a sunny Harthill Carnival on Saturday.

Shire horses, vintage tractors, falcons and football were among the attractions at the carnival which kicked-off with shire horse judging at noon followed by a parade through the village.

Families enjoyed meeting mini farm animals, performances from Bramley Brass Band and sounds filled the evening air for the carnival concert featuring live band The Other 3.

Keith Simmonite, chairman of Harthill Carnival Society, which organised the event, said: “It was a fantastic day. It was cancelled last year because of the weather and this year could not have been any different.

“There were up to 4,000 people who seemed to enjoy the entertainment and there was a very pleasant atmosphere.”
