Clifton Park was another popular spot for a dip, with a huge turnout at the water splash area, but ambulance crews warned people not to swim in open water after reports of swimmers in Manvers Lake.

Hide AdToday, forecasters are expecting to see the Rotherham all-time record of 91.9 deg F (32.8 deg C) smashed and the South Yorkshire record high of 93.7 deg F (34.3 deg C) is under threat.
But the weekend is expected to be cooler with temperatures down by at least ten degrees and rain forecast for Saturday.
