DOZENS of athletes made a splash, pounded the streets and took to the saddle at the first-ever Maltby Triathlon at the weekend.
Sunday’s event, which started and finished at Maltby Leisure Centre, saw competitors tackling two different distances — the sprint, which included a 400m swim, a 24km bike ride and a 5km run, or the super-sprint, which was half the distance.
Dozens of youngsters also took part in a duathlon event involving cycling and running on the playing fields outside the leisure centre.
