COLOUR, music and fun were all in plentiful supply as a park hosted an Asian-inspired community party.
The MelAsia was Clifton Park’s first mela, and brought together traditional music and dancing, games in the sun, paint-throwing and even an appearance by a Chinese dragon.
“Mela” is a Sanskrit word meaning “gathering” and melas as village fairs held in communities across the Indian subcontinent.
Rotherham’s own Asian celebration, which included a Picnic for Peace, was organised by Rotherham Ethnic Minority Alliance (REMA) with help from Love is Louder.
