Pensioner seriously hurt in crash

AN ELDERLY motorist suffered serious injuries after her car was involved in a crash yesterday morning.

The 71-year-old, driving a red Rover 45, is reported to have turned right into the path of an orange Fiat Panda at the Blacksmiths Lane junction, Marr.

The woman, from Doncaster, suffered a broken leg and is being treated at Sheffield Northern General Hospital.

The Fiat driver and passenger, both 51 and from Jersey, were treated for whiplash at Doncaster Royal Infirmary.

Anyone who witnessed the incident, shortly after 11am, is asked to call South Yorkshire Police on 101, quoting incident 402 of March 25.
