Pensioner hurt as minibus collides with mobility scooter

AN 85-YEAR-OLD woman received hospital treatment after being hit by a minibus and knocked out of her mobility scooter.

The Conisbrough pensioner had just disembarked the white Mercedes Sprinter bus at March Vale Rise  when its driver reversed into her scooter, knocking it over.

The woman fell out, cutting her head.

Emergency services were called to the scene at 2.53pm — police and fire crews responded before an ambulance arrived to transport the woman to Doncaster Royal Infirmary.

A police spokesman said that the bus had been stationary when the elderly lady parked behind it. The driver of the bus is not being charged with an offence.
