They celebrate excellence in healthcare by recognising Rotherham’s top NHS colleagues, who pull out all the stops to deliver a first class service.

Over 460 nominations were received across several categories, with 152 for nominees vying for the public recognition award alone.

This list is chosen by members of the public, then whittled down by judges to a shortlist of just five.

This year’s top five include Kelly Guest of the Early Attachment Service, Daniel McIntyre from the IT Service Desk and Sarah Briggs of the Heart Failure Team.

They are joined by staff at the Alcohol Liaison Service and Anna Hardman in Dietetics and Owen Dickinson in Endoscopy, who are jointly nominated.

Deborah Hoole, from the Alcohol Liaison Service, said: “It was a huge surprise for the whole team to find out that we have been shortlisted.

“We feel really privileged — it reinforces that we are doing the right thing for our patients and are providing them with a high-quality service.

“Being nominated by members of the public makes it even more special and we can’t wait to celebrate at the awards evening.”

Louise Barnett, the trust’s chief executive, said: “Thank you so much to everyone who took the time to nominate one of our colleagues or teams.
