Partially sighted pensioner robbed on bus

A PENSIONER’S purse containing bankcards and cash was stolen out of her handbag on a bus.

The 82-year-old woman was on the 114 bus from Middle Lane, Herringthorpe, to Wellgate between 11.35am and noon on Saturday (November 25).

The woman, who is partially sighted, got off the bus on Wellgate and realised her purse had been stolen when she went into a charity shop.

PC Pete Hague said: “This was a target of a vulnerable member of the community and I would urge everyone to be extra vigilant and to report any concerns they may have to police.

“If anyone witnessed the incident, or has any information, please report it via 101 quoting crime reference number C/156482/2017.”
