Parkway crash driver 'still critical'

A WOMAN who suffered “life-threatening injuries” in a crash on Dearne Valley Parkway is still “in a critical condition” in hospital, police said.

The 38-year-old was driving a black Vauxhall Astra when it was involved in a collision with a Daf box van and a white Scania articulated lorry last Wednesday afternoon.

Officers closed a one-mile stretch of A635 near Goldthorpe after the three-vehicle smash.

Firefighters were called to the scene at 1.50pm, helping to free the woman from her car.

The road was closed from 2pm until around 6pm, while crash investigators worked at the scene and traffic was diverted through Goldthorpe, causing severe delays for hours.

Officers are appealing for witnesses — they urge anyone with information to call 101 quoting incident 536 of July 4.
