That’s the appeal from Parkgate Shopping as it launches its annual Toy Appeal.

There are eight Christmas trees around Parkgate Shopping called the Giving Trees from which people can take a tag and then buy a gift which relates to the age on the tag.

The gift can then be left in any of the shops in Parkgate or handed in to the security team.

They wil then be collected, stored and distributed at Christmas to families in need around the Rotherham borough.

The Mayor and Mayoress of Rotherham, Cllr Alan Buckley and Mrs Sandra Buckley, launched this year’s appeal last Monday with support from Rotherham United chairman Tony Stewart and coach Matt Hamshaw.

There was music from the Salvation Army Band and adult and children’s choirs, including Redscope Voices and The Voice Academy, and shoppers also had the chance to meet the feathered members of Brecks Birds of Prey.
