Pallets and grassland set on fire

FIREFIGHTERS dealt with two incidents which involved wooden pallets over the weekend.

During the first incident a bonfire got out of control and spread to nearby pallets at around 3.45pm on Saturday on Bolton Road, Wath.

Dearne station attended the accidental blaze for around an hour, said a fire service spokeswoman.

The next day, arsonists targeted wooden pallets on Woodlands Crescent, Swinton, at 7.45pm.  A Dearne station crew was at the scene for half an hour.

Grassland was deliberately set on fire on Steadfolds Lane, Thurcroft, at 8.30pm on Sunday. A crew from Maltby station was at the scene until 9.15pm.
