Pair pushed 70-year-old off electric bike in robbery

TWO men pushed a 70-year-old off his electric bike and stole it.

The elderly man hit his head on the pavement after being approached by the pair on a moped at North Anston.

They pushed him to the side of Houghton Road before making off on the moped — carrying the electric bike — towards Todwick Road.

A police spokesperson said: “Officers would like anyone with any information or CCTV, or who captured the moped on their dash-cam to come forward.

“They are also keen to hear from anyone who may have seen the bike since it was stolen. It is a distinctive Trek Powerfly 5 2021 electric mountain bike in white.”

The incident happened at about 11.50am yesterday (Sunday).
