Overnight roadworks to continue on M1 and M18 motorways

MOTORISTS face delays as work to upgrade the M1 to a “smart motorway” nears completion.

There will be a number of overnight lane closures on the motorway over the next month as well as possible delays on the M18.

Two lanes will be closed on the M1 northbound between junctions 30 and 31 from 10.30pm on Saturday until 6am on Sunday.

One lane will also be closed on the southbound carriageway between junctions 32 and 31 at the same time.

Lane two on the M1/M18 link road northbound will be closed from 9.30pm on Tuesday until 6am on Wednesday.

One lane will be closed on the M18 southbound entry slip road at junction one for Bramley from 9pm on Wednesday until 6am on Thursday.

There will also be delays on the M18/M1 link road southbound on Friday night. One lane will closed from 9pm until 6am on Saturday.

Two lanes will be closed on the M18 slip road to the M1 northbound from 9pm on Wednesday until 6am on Thursday.

And on the M18 two lanes will be closed on the southbound carriageway between junction two and the M1 from 9.30pm on Tuesday until 6am on Wednesday.
