One person injured in M1 smash, police say

A CRASH on the M1 this morning led to one person being taken to hospital, police have confirmed.

Further details are yet to be released after the multi-vehicle collision at 6.35am this morning (Wednesday).

A police update shortly after 10am said the southbound carriageway remained closed between junction 31 and 32.

Motorists were still advised to plan alternative routes, with diversions still in place.

A police spokeswoman said: “One person is believed to have been injured and has been taken to hospital. The severity of the injuries is not known at this time.”
