One person escaped with just a bump to the head and no-one else was injured, South Yorkshire Police said.

A spokeswoman added: “On arrival officers found a car had collided with the central reservation and flipped onto its roof.

“Four other cars were also involved in the collision. One person was taken to hospital as a precaution, with minor injuries.”

The crash happened on the southbound carriageway between junctions two and one at about 10.20pm.

Fire crews from Maltby and Edlington stations attended, South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue said.
