A ROTHERHAM animal charity is looking to find an old Staffordshire bull terrier a forever home after it was found in a bad way.

Helping Yorkshire Poundies are committed to saving dogs from “death row” who have often been neglected and found in appalling conditions.

The adorable 13-year-old “Staffy” is called Edna.

HYPS was rescued and came into the charity’s care on July 20.

Edna was described as currently “very dirty and smelly” and “covered in lumps and bumps”.

At a grand age, Edna is “very stiff and wobbly on her little legs” and is understandably “confused” about her condition.

The centre said she was settled in a comfy kennel for the short term, but desperately needed an understanding foster home as soon as possible.

A spokesperson for HYPS said: “Edna will need patience and understanding of senior dog ‘quirks’ — she will pace and stress initially as she settles and she may well have accidents in the house.

“She is a friendly little lady and may be suitable to live with a very calm neutered male dog, and also dog savvy cats.

“She will need direct access to a secure garden and needs a quiet environment to settle down and relax.

“Please get in touch if you can help — she really really needs some TLC.

“Edna will need a lot of vet trips, so if you can donate towards her care we would be so so grateful.”
