Taking photos inside court premises is an offence under the Criminal Justice Act 1925 and can amount to contempt of court.

The tweet has since been deleted.

A spokesperson for the Manchester force said: “GMP is aware of a photo posted by serving officer on Twitter.

"However, no offence appears to have been committed.”
