Nomination process for South Yorkshire Police Force Awards opened up to public

MEMBERS of the public are being encouraged to recognise the professionalism, bravery and hard work of police officers and staff by putting them up for an award

The South Yorkshire Police Force Awards are returning this September and the public are being asked to make nominations for the first time.

In previous years, only those working for the force have been able to submit suggestions, but five categories will be open this year to public nominations.

The categories open to public nominations are:

  • The Victim Care Award, which will recognise excellent service and support from officers.
  • The Community Spirit Award, for a member of the public who has made a big impact in their community and chanegd lives where they live.
  • PCSO of the Year.
  • Police Officer of the Year.
  • Partnership of the Year, which will recognise an organisation, such as a not-for-profit or voluntary organisation, which has worked with South Yorkshire Police.

Nominations can be made by emailing [email protected] with the award category, the name of the individual or partnership organisation and why you think they should win. 

The deadline for nominations is Saturday, August 31.
