No trains at Rotherham station due to signal failure

NO trains will call at Rotherham Central until 11am due to a fault with the signalling system.

National Rail said disruption was expected until the end of the day and road transport was in place between Rotherham Central and Meadowhall.

The Tram Train is not operating between Tinsley, Rotherham and Parkgate, with tickets being accepted on First and Stagecoach buses.

National Rail is advising rail customers who want to travel from Rotherham to Meadowhall to use the road replacement transport.

It said customers travelling to Swinton should travel to Meadowhall where they can travel to Swinton from platform two.

Service boards on the tram network are reporting that the disruption has been caused by vandalism.
