No charges after Dinnington woman's death

POLICE have told two men arrested after a young woman collapsed and died following a night out that they will not face criminal charges.

The men, aged 33 and 53, were arrested and interviewed in connection with the death of Sade Russell, from Dinnington, in the early hours of June 12 last year.

Salvation Army volunteers found the alcohol dependent 21-year-old staggering down Lordens Hill, Dinnington, hours after she attended a 30th birthday party.

She was taken home to nearby Addison Square and put to bed but was found dead at around 1am the following morning.

At an inquest on June 15 it emerged that Sade had drunk alcohol and smoked cannabis at the party before visiting two other properties where she had access to methadrone—also known as meow meow—and had full sexual intercourse.

This week a South Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “The criminal investigation into the death of 21-year-old Sade Ann Russell, whose body was found in Dinnington during the early hours of June 12 last year, has now concluded.

“No charges have been brought by the Crown Prosecution Service.

“We now await a date for the conclusion of Sade’s inquest.”
