They want to link with developers JF Finnegan to build at Beighton Link, near Swallownest.

The price of the land would be “independently determined” and paid from a £5 million capital growth approved in March, a Rotherham Borough Council spokesman said.

Cllr Denise Lelliott, Cabinet member for jobs and the economy, said: "We know there is a market out there for high-quality commercial property, but businesses are struggling to find suitable units. That’s preventing business growth in the borough.”

RMBC would buy the land and units, with JF Finnegan carrying out construction, under proposals going before Cabinet on Monday (11).
