Chief Supt Scott Green, district commander for Barnsley, said: “I’m thrilled to be welcoming Sgt Ellis to Barnsley and I have no doubt that the team at Goldthorpe will give him a warm welcome.

“Sgt Ellis brings with him a wealth of experience, with over 20 years in policing serving local communities, and I am confident that he will build on the already excellent work being done in Goldthorpe.

“I would also like to thank Insp Bramhall and Sgt Pearson for their efforts and hard work across the district and congratulate them on their recent promotions. They are truly deserved and Doncaster and Sheffield are gaining two excellent, dedicated officers.”
