RUNNING newcomer Jaidie Beal has been bitten by the bug after deciding to run 30k in 30 days.
The football-mad eight-year-old, of Herbert Street, Mexborough, reached her goal of completing 1km for every day in November with a little help from friends, family and Donny Dog.
Proud mum Linsey Beal said: “Her brother ran for Prostate Cancer and Jaidie wanted to do a fundraiser as well.
“She has chosen Firefly as two of her grandparents, Jean Holmes and Bill Wykes, have been supported by them after being diagnosed with lung cancer.”
Linsey said Jaidie was delighted after raising more than £800 for her chosen charity.
“She has never done any running before, really,” she added.
“She has had family, friends and football teams running with her — even Donny Dog from Doncaster Rovers.
“It was tough to start with but easier when she was running with other people, and she’s got it down to five minutes and 33 seconds.
“She’s done really well and she wants to continue running after this.”
