New Rotherham Hospital’s pledge to bring passion

THE NEW chief executive of Rotherham Hospital has vowed to build on the “commitment and passion” of staff to drive its recovery.

Louise Barnett has been drafted in as interim chief executive to follow in the footsteps of Michael Morgan, who has headed the Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust’s bid to slash its budget and bounce back from a series of problems, including a major breakdown of its IT system.

Ms Barnett said she had been “struck by the commitment and passion demonstrated by our workforce in the care that they give every day.”

She added: “I am committed to the NHS and have a real passion for supporting colleagues to deliver excellent patient care.

“I feel that my past NHS experience, in both executive and non-executive roles is very complimentary to leading the trust to deliver high quality healthcare to meeting the challenges we face as an NHS organisation.

“I am committed to the NHS and have a real passion for supporting colleagues to deliver excellent patient care.

“High quality services are at the top of my agenda and I am keen to work alongside our staff and stakeholders to continue to deliver excellence to patients and the population. “My priority is to build on the hard work and passion shown by our staff and, alongside the work carried out by Michael Morgan and other members of the Trust’s Board, continue to develop and drive a clear vision and strategy for the Trust.”
